Mindfulness Exercises for Busy Lives

Yoga, for me, is less about achieving perfect shapes and more about gently coming back into relationship with your body, breath, and present-moment experience. My approach is mindful, trauma-sensitive, and accessible, with space to move at a pace that feels right for you.

Mindfulness is at the heart of the practice. Rather than pushing or striving, you are invited to slow down and notice what is happening moment by moment to the breath, sensations, thoughts, emotions, impulses, and limits with curiosity and without judgement.

You do not need to be flexible, experienced, or able to perform certain postures. The practice can include movement, stillness, breath awareness, rest, and reflection, cultivating choice, autonomy, and respect for your boundaries at the centre. You are invited to listen to your own body, respond to what you notice, and move in a way that feels safe enough for you.

I Offer 3 Types of Yoga Sessions

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep”, is a deeply restorative guided meditation that supports the brain and nervous system to move from stress into rest. Rooted in yogic philosophy and informed by neuroscience and psychology, the practice encourages relaxation, emotional regulation, and a calmer parasympathetic state. Through guided awareness of the body, breath, and mind, Yoga Nidra can help reduce tension, improve sleep quality, and create a greater sense of clarity, balance, and inner calm.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Trauma Sensitive Yoga is a gentle, choice-based approach to yoga designed to support people who may be living with the effects of trauma, stress, or nervous system dysregulation. Rather than focusing on achieving particular shapes or outcomes, the practice invites participants to notice sensations, make choices, and move at their own pace. With an emphasis on safety, autonomy, grounding, and present-moment awareness, Trauma Sensitive Yoga can help rebuild a sense of connection with the body, support emotional regulation, and create a greater feeling of steadiness and self-trust.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that uses long-held, floor-based postures to encourage deep release in the body and stillness in the mind. The practice gently targets the connective tissues, joints, and fascia while inviting awareness of the breath and inner experience. By allowing time to soften into each posture, Yin Yoga can support flexibility, reduce physical tension, and cultivate patience, mindfulness, and a deeper sense of calm.

FAQs

Do I need to be flexible?2026-07-19T19:34:33+01:00

Not at all. You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga, it’s something that develops over time. Classes are suitable for all levels, and poses can always be adapted to meet your individual needs. You will need to let me know if you have any health conditions that are relevant to your practice, such as high blood pressure, knee or back injuries, or if you are pregnant.

What do I need?2026-07-19T19:35:02+01:00

A yoga mat and comfortable clothing are all you really need. Yoga blocks or bricks can be helpful for extra support, and a blanket is lovely to have for relaxation at the end of the practice. If you’re new to yoga, don’t worry if you don’t have everything straight away.

I’ve never practised yoga before. Can I still join?2026-07-19T19:35:35+01:00

Absolutely. Beginners are warmly welcomed. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace, to listen to your body, and to rest whenever you need.

What can I expect from a class?2026-07-19T19:36:02+01:00

Classes offer a gentle blend of movement, breath awareness and relaxation, creating space to reconnect with yourself. The emphasis is on practising mindfully, with plenty of room to adapt movements in ways that feel right for you.

Do you offer one‑to‑one sessions?2026-07-19T19:36:48+01:00

Yes. Individual sessions can be tailored to your experience and any physical or emotional considerations you may have. You’re welcome to ask about one‑to‑one yoga if you’d like something more personalised.
